You only need about 10 minutes to prepare a paste from this super trio that will last for up to two weeks in the fridge. Another good thing about this mixture is that you can add a couple of teaspoons to any of your meals.

Turmeric is a very popular Asian-Indian spice that is part of the ginger family. It has an array of health benefits mainly due to its active ingredient called curcumin (the substance that gives it its yellow color). Curcumin has the ability to block disease-causing molecules associated with inflammation. Many studies have shown that it is more effective than some potent anti-inflammatory drugs (such as hydrocortisone) without causing any side effects.
– Black pepper
Black pepper is a flowering vine in the Piperaceae plant family. It is cultivated for its fruit, which is dried and then used as a spice and seasoning. Many studies have shown that Black pepper promotes weight loss as a result of its ability to reduce belly fat and boost metabolism. Additionally, it is also a natural anti-depressant and helps improve mood!
This spice is actually the key to the efficiency of this paste due to its component called piperine, which has the ability to enhance the absorption of curcumin by 1,000 times.
– Coconut Oil
Coconut oil consists of over 90% saturated fats which are rich in medium chain triglycerides (which give it its strong antimicrobial properties) and help increase the absorption of turmeric. In addition to this, coconut oil is also a great source of protein.

THE RECIPE FOR TURMERIC PASTE:
- 1/4 cup of organic turmeric powder
- 1 tsp of organic ground black pepper
- 1 tsp of organic virgin coconut oil
- 1/2 cup of water
Mix all of the ingredients into a large stainless saucepan and brew over medium heat, stirring frequently. When the mixture begins to bubble (after 4 minutes), reduce the heat and continue to stir in order to prevent it from burning. Once it thickens to a paste (about 8 minutes in total), turn off the heat. Let the mixture cool and then pour it into a glass jar and store it in the fridge. You can use the paste for 2 weeks. The recommended consumption is 2 tsp every morning. You can also add a couple of teaspoons to your meals or your morning smoothie.
