It is a well-known fact that stress affects our bodies on multiple levels, causing them to react differently.  Here are some of the seemingly minor symptoms that could affect the body in a much bigger way!

Symptoms and Remedies

1. Weight Change

Stress could be the major cause of constant weight changes.  While block et al study showed a strong link between stress and weight gain, suffering from chronic stress could result in weight loss, too. If you are focusing on the stressful subject too much, it is making you sick! Make sure you eat healthy, focusing on lean meats, vitamin C (oranges), potassium (avocados), and magnesium (leafy greens).

Solutions: Stick to a healthy meal plan and eat plenty of biotic packed foods in order to avoid these weight fluctuations.

2. Hair Loss

If you have noticed an unexplained hair loss, stress could be the answer. Namely, it has been found to impact the cycle of hair growth, as shown by Arck et al in their study on the effect of stressful factors on hair.

Solutions:  Find the time do de-stress by enjoying a relaxing bath filled with bath salts.

3. Sleeping Issues

Experiencing some sleeping issues now and them is generally considered normal. However, few people realize that being overstressed could be the underlying cause of this. Thinking about something at bedtime can cause scary dreams and disruptions. Many studies have shown the potent effects anxiety and stress have on sleep, pointing out the importance of getting a good night`s rest.

Solutions: Aim at imagining a different life scenario, relaxing the mind and taking yourself to another place.

4. Thinking Too Much About Your Job and Restlessness

Stop for a minute and let the mind wander, focus on the first thing it comes to. As reported by the American Psychological Association, focusing too much on your job increases the stress levels and causes an ‘increased risk of coronary disease‘.

Solutions:  Try meditation in order to clear your mind and get it off stressful thoughts.

5. Mood Swings

Stress can impact the hormone levels in many different ways, leading to development of serious diseases like fertility problems, Graves disease, and diabetes.  These mood changes can affect the people around you too, pushing them away. You need to become aware of the effects your mood has on others and try to focus on having healthier and happier reaction to others.

Solutions: Try assessing the situation and approaching it properly.  Controlling your thoughts will help you avoid getting irritated and angry.

6. Bodily Pains

Have you been experiencing certain pains and aches all over the body? Do you get headaches that simply don’t go away? If the answer is yes, stop for a minute to assess your stress levels.

Solutions: One of the best ways to de-stress and clear your mind is by enjoying a relaxing massage. Lavender oil is one of the best massaging oils for this purpose, smelling heavenly and reducing anxiety.

7. Low Libido

High stress-related hormones may lower your libido, reducing your desire and making you unable to enjoy intimacy with another person.

Solutions:  The libido is often affected by one`s diet. To improve your sex life, add more berries, avocados, almonds, leafy greens, sesame seeds, and sunflower seeds into your diet.
