Paraben esters are cancer-causing chemicals that are commonly used as preservatives in many cosmetic and pharmaceutical products such as deodorants, shampoos, shaving gels, moisturizers, makeup, toothpaste, pharmaceutical drugs, and food additives. According to a recent study, the presence of parabens has been detected in 99% of breast cancer tissues. This study has looked at 40 women who were being treated for breast cancer. The biggest concentration of parabens was found in tissue from the axilla quadrant of the breast, which is a part of the body that is closest to the underarm, where most breast tumors are discovered.
Paraben esters are affecting the body in a very similar way as estrogen, a hormone that is involved in the development of breast cancer. Parabens can reduce muscle mass, increase the fat storage, and induce male gynecomastia (breast growth). Additionally, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has linked parabens to developmental, metabolic, hormonal, and neurological disorders, as well as some types of cancers.
If you want to avoid paraben esters, you need to read the labels carefully (even for the products that are labeled as all-natural). Parabens are usually listed with the following names:
· Isobutyl paraben
We also want to remind you that parabens are far from being the only cancer-causing material in cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. They also contain some metals that have the ability to bind to estrogen receptors and potentially cause cancer. Some of following chemicals are even added to supplements and foods.
HERE IS THE LIST:
The best way to avoid these cancerous substances is by making your own personal care products. That’s why we will present you a simple recipe for natural deodorant.
