„For most of us, this sounds like a bizarre treatment, but it works! It works because it activates the natural defenses of our bodies“,says Jamey Wallace, ND, Clinic Medical Director at Bastyr Center for Natural Health.

This hydrotherapy treatment is also known as a “heating compress,”. It urges the body to heat the cold, wet socks, and the body reacts by increasing blood circulation, which stimulates the immune system.

The vessels in your feet will squeeze when your feet cool down, which sends all the good nutrients into your organs and tissues. After that, your feet will start to warm up again, and your vessels will extend to release the heat. This is a process when the junk in your tissues goes into your bloodstream so that your body can get rid of it. The outcome is an active immune system and reduced congestion. Also, your socks will be dry in the morning.

An interesting fact about this treatment is that many patients claim that they sleep much better during the treatment. This treatment is also effective for pain relief and boosts the healing response during acute infections.

Do this at the first sign of a cold for a few days in a row.

You will need:

o    A bucket

o    A pair of thin cotton socks

o    A pair of thick wool socks

Instructions:

Step 1. Soak the thin socks in the bowl of ice water. When the socks are completely wet, remove them from the water and squeeze out the water.

Step 2. Put your feet into a bucket of hot water to warm up your feet. You will need 10 minutes to warm up your feet.

Step 3. After that dry them off and put on the cold wet cotton socks immediately. Then cover the wet socks with the dry wool socks.

Step 4. Go to bed and make sure that your feet are covered the whole time, otherwise, the treatment will not work.
