Benefits of Curry Leaves For Hair Growth

Curry leaves look like shiny lemon leaves and have a strong smell. Given the fact that they are some of the best natural flavoring agents, they are widely used for culinary purposes, especially in Indian cuisine.

However, besides being an essential component of many dishes, curry leaves provide many health benefits as well. They help prevent diarrhea, keep cholesterol in check, and promote proper digestive function. Interestingly, curry leaves can work wonders for the hair too!

Benefits of Curry leaves For Hair

1. Prevents Premature Hair Graying

Premature hair graying is usually caused by alcohol, smoking, or genetics. Given the fact that curry leaves are abundant in vitamin B, they strengthen the roots and help restore hair color.

2. Reduces Hair Fall and Thinning

Hair loss is a very common issue which can occur as a result of improper diet, improper combing techniques, and lack of proteins. Being rich in beta-carotene and proteins, curry leaves can reduce hair fall and stimulate hair growth. In addition to this, they are loaded with antioxidants and amino acids which moisturize the scalp and strengthen the hair follicles. Ultimately, curry leaves have the ability to remove dead hair follicles as well, which is often the cause of dandruff.

3. Treats Damaged Hair

Damaged and weak hair is a result of clogged hair follicles due to chemicals in artificial hair products and excess pollution. Curry leaves help the follicles breathe, strengthen them, and help in the scalp restoration process. Therefore, curry leaves are very effective in treating weak and damaged hair. You can either consume curry leaves or apply the paste directly onto the scalp.
