Besides being delicious and having the most powerful antioxidant properties when compared to other fruits, blueberries can also be helpful with many health issues. They can improve memory, aid digestion, protect the heart, and reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Additionally, a study that was recently published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has shown that daily blueberry consumption improves blood pressure and arterial stiffness in postmenopausal women with pre- and stage 1-hypertension.
Luckily for us, you can easily grow blueberries at home without using too much space because they are ideally suited for growing in containers. This is due to their shallow root system that easily adapts to the tight space in the container.
You learn how to grow an endless supply of blueberries by following the tips below.
1. Select plants that are suitable for growing in a container. Top Hat is one such plant:

2. The soil must have acid pH levels in the range of 4.5 to 5.0. You should know that the most common cause of blueberry death is the wrong ph.
3. Fill two-thirds of the container with the acidic soil mix.
4. Center the blueberry bush in the container. Fill in with soil just to the crown. Blueberry roots are shallow so you don’t want to plant the shrub deeper than it was in the nursery pot.
5. Water well and add more soil if it’s necessary
6. Spread 1 to 2 inches of acidic mulch like pine needles on top of the soil.
7. Put the plant on a sunny place at least six hours per day in order to get better blueberry production.
